A fine early 20th-century oil painting after Ján Kupecký’s (1667-1740) portrait of the court musician, Ferdinand Josef Lemberger.

Ján Kupecký was a Czech portraitist that worked during the baroque and his portraits tended to feature the dramatic light and shade often associated with the period.

This particular piece was produced in around 1910 by ‘K Richer’ of Munich.

The painting is signed in the upper left and housed within a later frame.
