Brave Fine Art respects the privacy of anyone using this website. Our privacy policy has been written in plain English as we’re keen to be transparent about how we handle your personal information. We provide our service to you subject to this privacy policy and we will continue to review it. We also reserve the right to amend it.

Collected Information and how we use it

We collect, receive or process your information in several ways and each of these are intended to improve your experience. Often, you can choose the type of information you provide, like whether to include a phone number on a contact form, but sometimes certain information is required in order to make the service work.

Contact Page & Making An Order

We receive and store your information through various HTML forms, including those on our contact page and during checkout. When you send us your information via these forms, we will only ever use it for the purpose that contact was made. We do not, and will not, use any of your data for any other reason.

Sharing Information With Couriers

When you purchase an item, we need to share the information you’ve provided with a courier so they can deliver it to you. We will only provide them with the details you’ve given us in the HTML form you submitted.

Sharing Information With Artists

When you purchase a contemporary painting, we may share your address with the artist responsible to allow them to dispatch your item. We will only share the information you've provided us with.

Newsletter

The website also includes the ability to subscribe to our newsletter and users who voluntarily add their details to this will receive ad hoc emails. Users can unsubscribe at any time via a link in each newsletter or by contacting us at andy@bravefineart.com. We will not share our mailing list with any third parties.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to collect information about how visitors use our website. It provides us with anonymous but useful information, such as the number of visitors to the website, the browsers used, the pages viewed and for what length of time. We make no attempts to use this data in any way to identify specific users or to discover any personally identifiable information.

Cookies

Cookies are small files that web browsers place on a computer's hard drive. They help us to authenticate users as well as improve the overall experience. The Brave Fine Art website stores Google Analytics cookies, which are essential for Google Analytics to work. Data is stored anonymously and includes no sensitive information. For example, we use Google Analytics to view generic data, such as the number of visits to the homepage and how that changes over time. This data poses no risk or threat to the users of the website but it’s very helpful to us.

Third Party Sites

The Brave Fine Art website contains links to others and we’re not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of these, or other third party websites. Customers and visitors must check the particular website's own privacy statement to understand their policies and their use of personal information. Customers and visitors who access a linked site may be disclosing their private information. It’s your responsibility to keep such information private and confidential.

Currency Conversion

By using our website, you agree to allow third parties to process your IP address, in order to determine your location for the purpose of currency conversion. You also agree to have that currency stored in a session cookie in your browser (a temporary cookie which gets automatically removed when you close your browser).

We do this in order for the selected currency to remain selected and consistent when browsing our website so that the prices can convert to your local currency.

Security

Our website is delivered via Shopify, which adopts industry standard best practice to protect the information we store, both during its transmission and after it’s been received. For example, Shopify encrypts certain information using secure socket layer technology (SSL). However, no method of transmission online or electronic storage is 100% secure. So even though we endeavour to do all we can, we can’t guarantee your complete protection.

Retention

We will retain your data for as long as we need, in order to provide our core services to you. Should you wish to view, edit or remove your personal information, please refer to the opt-out policy below.

Opt-Out Policy

We recognise that everyone likes to have control over their own data and, for that reason, we make it easy for you to view, edit or remove the information we store that relates to you. Please just email our data controller, Andy Shield, at andy@bravefineart.com should you wish to either:

  • Obtain a copy of your personal data,
  • Edit your personal data, or

You can also opt-out from receiving our mailings by clicking unsubscribe in one of the emails you’ve received or emailing us at andy@bravefineart.com.
