Melchior "Melch" Kern (1872-1947), trained at the Munich Art Academy and worked in and around the City for most of his life. He generally painted scenes from rural villages and seemed to enjoy working in the landscape.

During his lifetime, he was represented at the Munich Art Exhibition and the Great Berlin Art Exhibition.
