Leopold Graf Von Kalckreuth was initially taught by his father and later attended the academies of Weimar and Munich. His work covered various subjects but tended to focus on gritty everyday scenes including field labourers and fisher folk.
In 1895, Von Kalckreuth became a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe. And today, he’s represented at the Munich Pinakothek.
