Peter Josef Strahn trained at the Düsseldorf Art Academy and later founded his own painting school.

There’s a real joy in his paintings, and you can see how much Strahn treasured working outdoors. He was known to be a quiet man - an "artist of silence" - and his work reflected his persona.
