Johansen, Axel (1872-1938)

Axel Johansen was considered to be one of the foremost Danish painters of his generation and exhibited regularly at the Danish equivalent of the Royal Academy. He studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen and many of his works reflect his love for the sea and sailing.
