Henry W Henley was a notable British landscape painter known predominantly for his works in oil. His often dramatic upland views frequently captured the majestic scenery of North Wales and the Scottish Highlands. Welsh rivers, such as the picturesque banks of the Conwy, were a particular inspiration. As were the misty lochs and fens of Inverness-shire.
He exhibited at the Royal Society of Artists in Birmingham and lived in Stafford during the 1880s.
