Otakar Baran began his career in advertising and design and would’ve had contact with many young business executives and fashion models. In 1937, Baran visited Paris, where he undoubtedly had the chance to develop within a flourishing art scene. This trip was one of his many excursions throughout Europe as he travelled fairly extensively.
