A fine 20th-century still life depicting an array of mushrooms scattered across a table and tumbling from a basket. The artist, Josef Steiner (1910-1981), has rendered the various fungi with skill and a keen attention to detail.

Steiner was known for his exquisite still lifes that drew influence from the 17th-century Dutch masters.

The painting is signed Reinold, which is a pseudonym, and housed within an appropriate frame.
