Arup Jensen, Moored At Copenhagen

Arup Jensen, Moored At Copenhagen

The worn steel hull of a docked ship rests silently in Copenhagen. Three masts point skyward, sails furled ahead of another day. Alongside, several smaller craft are clustered by a mooring - like old friends gathered to chat.

Further on, the smoke-billowing chimneys of the whirring factories provide an industrial backdrop. The harbour is working while the vessels are still.

Housed within a period frame and signed.

Conservation & History

We care profoundly about our role as custodians and every piece in the collection has been assessed by our conservator. When required, we undertake professional restoration carefully using reversible techniques and adopt a light touch to retain the aged charm of each work. We also often restore frames rather than replace them as many are original and selected by the artists themselves.
