Sunlit Interior

Robert Panitzsch

Sunlit Interior

This early 20th-century oil painting by Danish artist Robert Panitzsch (1879-1949) depicts a beautiful sunlit interior.

Panitzsch has become widely admired for his splendid interior scenes. Many of these capture views within his own home. He was particularly skilled at rendering light effects within rooms adorned with antiques and this piece from 1937 is a fine example of his talent.

Our eyes are transfixed by the glimpse through the window.

Conservation & History

We care profoundly about our role as custodians and every piece in the collection has been assessed by our conservator. When required, we undertake professional restoration carefully using reversible techniques and adopt a light touch to retain the aged charm of each work. We also often restore frames rather than replace them as many are original and selected by the artists themselves.
