Charles Joseph Watelet was an accomplished Belgian portraitist. He's particularly well-known for his portraits of society ladies during the early 20th-century. His works often carry a laissez faire attitude with wealthy females draped over glamorous furniture. Watelet studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels and won a gold medal at the Paris Salon in 1925.
