William Hill Thomson was a Scottish artist primarily known for portraiture, particularly in miniature.
He was a member of the Royal Miniature Society where he exhibited on numerous occasions. His work was also shown at the Royal Academy, Royal Scottish Academy, and the Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts.
Today, examples of his work can be found at Fyvie Castle, which is owned by the National Trust for Scotland.
