Syberg, Fritz (1862-1939)

Fritz Syberg painted his wife, Anna, often and each work carries a sense of intrigue. Anna was a notable influence on her husband’s career as after their marriage his work became brighter and generally more positive.

He’s probably best known for 18 large drawings which he completed for Hans Christian Andersen's ‘The Story of a Mother’. These are considered some of the finest Danish drawings of all time.
