This vibrant 19th-century still life depicts an abundant array of fruit including pomegranates, pears, and grapes with a jug. There’s a fine quality to the brushwork with every element rendered with a skilful touch and careful observation.
It’s an unusual arrangement, which represents a late Summer harvest.
The work appears to be signed W Clansmore.
Housed in a good later frame and glazed.
