Reginald Daniel Sherrin, Pastoral Landscape With Pine Trees

Reginald Daniel Sherrin, Pastoral Landscape With Pine Trees

A fine early 20th-century landscape painting by British painter, Reginald Daniel Sherrin (1891-1971). It depicts a picturesque view across fields towards a distant tree-lined horizon. We particularly admire the composition - with the pine trees guiding your eye along the track.

Reginald Daniel was the son of the accomplished landscape artist, Daniel Sherrin (1869-1940). He was born near Whitstable in Kent and served in both World Wars - working in a munitions factory in Rochester during WWII. In 1953, he moved to Starcross in Devon, which is a county that often inspired him.

The painting is signed in the bottom left and housed within a beautiful later frame.
