An easy-going landscape painting depicting a view across the peaceful island of Gavnø in South Zealand, Denmark.
The artist, Rasmus Andersen Holm (1781-1874) has picked a beautiful spot with the large trees on the left casting their long shadows towards the foot of the image. While, further on, a scattering a timber-framed buildings help to guide our eye outwards the evening’s sunlit sky.
The work is signed/dated in the lower right.
