Paul Stephens, Taxi

Paul Stephens, Taxi

A bright contemporary oil painting depicting a taxi on Great Pulteney Street in Bath by British artist, Paul Stephens.

It’s such a clever choice of composition by Paul, with the signpost on the left guiding our eye down the street. He’s captured so much movement with just a few incisive brush-marks. The street feels alive on a busy Summer’s day.

Paul’s work has been shown at various exhibitions including the RWA Bristol, The Mall Galleries, and Boca Raton in Florida.

The painting is monogrammed in the lower right and housed within an appropriate contemporary frame.

Medium: Oil on board
Overall size: 16” x 13” / 40cm x 33cm
Year of creation: 2019
Provenance: England
Condition: Very good overall.

Conservation & History

We care profoundly about our role as custodians and every piece in the collection has been assessed by our conservator. When required, we undertake professional restoration carefully using reversible techniques and adopt a light touch to retain the aged charm of each work. We also often restore frames rather than replace them as many are original and selected by the artists themselves.
