Ivan Bergdahl, Spring Winter at Gadea Mill

Ivan Bergdahl, Spring Winter at Gadea Mill

A large expressive oil painting from the late 60s by Swedish painter, Ivan Bergdahl (b.1929). It depicts a Wintery river scene at Gadea Mill, which would’ve been nearby to where Ivan lived. You can almost feel the chill in the air as you cast your eyes downriver towards the bridge in the distance.

The painting is housed within its original frame and signed in the lower left.

Conservation & History

We care profoundly about our role as custodians and every piece in the collection has been assessed by our conservator. When required, we undertake professional restoration carefully using reversible techniques and adopt a light touch to retain the aged charm of each work. We also often restore frames rather than replace them as many are original and selected by the artists themselves.
