This enchanting etching by Swedish artist, Hjalmar Molin (1868-1954), captures a view of Calle de Los Condes de Barcelona. It was published in 1903 and driven by Molin’s desire for architectural inspiration.

Molin trained as an architect and undertook various study trips throughout Europe. Here, we see a bustling street, alive with Catalan vibrancy. There’s a palpable buzz, which is further enhanced by the sketchy free-spirited approach.
