A fine turn of the century oil on wood depicting a smart young lady by German painter, Heinrich Karl von Pechmann (1826-1905).

Von Pechmann trained at the academy in Munich under Phillip Foltz and also undertook study trips to France and Italy. He's primarily known for expansive landscapes, particularly alpine scenes, but also painted portraits and frescoes.

The portrait is held within a gilded frame and monogrammed in the upper right.

Condition: Two small marks in the top left but otherwise very presentable. Frame with some light wear.
Artist’s auction highlight: £4,200 achieved for ‘Heimfahrt von der Kindstaufe’ at an auction in Germany in 1996.
