An unusual and strangely atmospheric depiction of Battersea Power Station in the evening. The paint is hazy and impressionistic with the street lamps providing the only clarity.
Battersea was constructed in two phases - with each contributing two chimneys. The second phase was completed in 1955, which was only a few before G Chambers painted this piece. It must have been quite a sight to witness from this viewpoint.
