Early 20th-Century Danish School Portrait Of A Gentleman

Early 20th-Century Danish School Portrait Of A Gentleman

A fine early 20th-century Danish school portrait of a dapper gentleman with a moustache. He’s dressed to the nines and we particularly love his ruby tie pin.

The gentleman’s name has been lost over time but he was clearly a man of means.

The portrait is presented in a feigned oval and signed/dated in the lower right, perhaps Fröner or Frömer.

Conservation & History

We care profoundly about our role as custodians and every piece in the collection has been assessed by our conservator. When required, we undertake professional restoration carefully using reversible techniques and adopt a light touch to retain the aged charm of each work. We also often restore frames rather than replace them as many are original and selected by the artists themselves.
