Early 20th-Century Danish School Portrait Of A Gentleman

Early 20th-Century Danish School Portrait Of A Gentleman

A fine early 20th-century Danish school portrait of a dapper gentleman with a moustache. He’s dressed to the nines and we particularly love his ruby tie pin.

The gentleman’s name has been lost over time but he was clearly a man of means.

The portrait is presented in a feigned oval and signed/dated in the lower right, perhaps Fröner or Frömer.

Oil on canvas
Overall size
25½” x 31” / 65cm x 79cm
Year of creation
c. 1928
The canvas is a little undulant and there’s some light craquelure in areas. Frame with losses and age-related wear.
