This well-rendered study of a male nude by German artist, Curt Rüger (1867-1930) was completed during his time at the Academy of Fine Arts in Dresden. He was 19 and clearly demonstrated an advanced ability.

The portrait is signed/dated in the lower right and housed within a later frame.
