Anton Laupheimer, Portrait Of An Artist At Work

A fine late 19th-century portrait of an 18th-century artist at work by German painter, Anton Laupheimer (1848-1927). It’s a characterful little piece brimming with charm and exquisite details.

The painting is signed in the lower right and housed within a beautiful scroll and foliate gilt frame.

Conservation & History

We care profoundly about our role as custodians and every piece in the collection has been assessed by our conservator. When required, we undertake professional restoration carefully using reversible techniques and adopt a light touch to retain the aged charm of each work. We also often restore frames rather than replace them as many are original and selected by the artists themselves.
