Anders Zorn, Vicke

Anders Zorn, Vicke

A fine early 20th-century signed etching by Swedish artist, Anders Zorn (1860-1920). Zorn is considered to be one of Sweden’s greatest artists and his works are held in many of the world’s leading public collections.

Anders Zorn was a precocious talent who impressed from an early age. He studied at the Royal Swedish Academy of Art in Stockholm and was soon commissioned by many of Stockholm’s notable dignitaries. Following this, he travelled extensively and achieved international success - with portraits including three American presidents.

Today he’s represented in the Musée d'Orsay, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

The etching is signed in pencil, framed and glazed.

Conservation & History

We care profoundly about our role as custodians and every piece in the collection has been assessed by our conservator. When required, we undertake professional restoration carefully using reversible techniques and adopt a light touch to retain the aged charm of each work. We also often restore frames rather than replace them as many are original and selected by the artists themselves.
