Alfred H Vickers, River Landscape With Coastal Path

Alfred H Vickers, River Landscape With Coastal Path

A charming 19th-century river landscape by British artist, Alfred H Vickers (fl.1853-1907). This is a beautifully rendered piece with a sky reminiscent of a Constable. It captures a quintessentially English view on a bright Summer’s day.

Alfred H Vickers was probably related to Alfred Gomersal Vickers (1810-1837) and Alfred Vickers Senior (1786-1868). He’s known to have exhibited at the Royal Academy and generally painted in England.

The painting is signed in the lower right and housed within an ornate later frame.
