19th-Century Rural Landscape With Cattle

19th-Century Rural Landscape With Cattle

A charming 19th-century oil on panel depicting an idyllic rural scene with a farmer and his cattle. The composition is reminiscent of earlier continental landscapes such as those by French artist, Claude Lorrain (1600-1682).

We particularly enjoy the composition, which guides your eye between the trees and out towards the hills.

The painting is housed within a period frame.
