Henri Heyligers is generally considered to be a painter of genre scenes depicting women with children but he also painted still lifes and landscapes. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague, at L’ Académie des Beaux-Arts de l’instiute in France and at l’ Académie Comon in Paris. His works were exhibited at various museums including the Veluws and Stedelijk in Amsterdam.
