Danish artist, Ove Haase, was primarily a still life painter but also produced portraits and landscapes. Generally, his stills tend to depict a vase abundant with flowers in full bloom. Many of these flowers had short seasons so oftentimes he would work on a piece for several years until he could study accurately from life.
Queen Alexandrine was one of many admirers.
