Stefan Eggeler was an accomplished German painter, printmaker and illustrator of figures and interior scenes. He trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna under Ferdinand Dirt and Rudolf Bacher. His works are held in numerous public collections including at the Met Museum and British Museum.

Born in Vienna, Austria to Andreas Eggeler, a court official, and Anna Eggeler (nee Löwy).
Studied law at the University of Vienna.
Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna under Ferdinand Dirt and Rudolf Bacher.

Produced woodcuts and etchings, which were often published as book illustrations.
1925
Appointed the artistic director of the magazine “Kokain. Eine moderne Revue”.
Retired as an artist to pursue a career as a legal advisor.
1969
Died in Vienna, Austria.
