Leopoldo Marco Antonio Caldani was an Italian anatomist who is well-noted for his research into the function of the spinal cord. Along with his nephew, Floriano Caldani, he published a large collection of anatomical drawings titled ‘Icones Anatomicae’ that are considered some of the finest examples of their type.

Became a professor of practical medicine.

1771

Became a professor of anatomy in Padua.

1805

Retired.

1813

Died in Padua.
