The Lady In Black
A striking Victorian/Edwardian portrait of a young lady dressed in a traditional mourning outfit.
Her appearance is flawless - from the accuracy of her centre parting through to the position of the portrait brooch around her neck. Clearly she spent a great deal of time preparing for this portrait, which would’ve been an exciting event for a lady of her age.
It’s likely to be a painted photograph rather than a traditional oil painting, but nonetheless it’s still a fine work.
