Semana Santa (or Holy Week) is a religious festival that dates back to the 16th Century. Every year, across Spain, a series of processions depict various scenes relating to the life and death of Christ. Miche Grey-Newton painted this work during a trip to Seville during Holy Week and, towards the middle of the image, you may be able to spot two hooded pilgrims that were taking part in the activities.

Miche is a highly regarded artist that trained at the City & Guilds and Bath Spa University, graduating in Fine Art in 2011.
