A late 19th-century portrait of a charming rough-coated collie dog in a seated position. At its feet, a parcel, presumably containing its owner’s lunch, is adjacent to what appears to be a drinking canteen. It’s clearly a well-behaved dog given that the food is still intact…

Signed and dated.
