Moorhen In First Position [Suzanne Ewart]
The humble Moorhen is common among many of the UK's parks, lakes, ponds and rivers. Although mainly water-dwelling, occasionally it takes to the land and wanders around with its conspicuously oversized green feet. Its striking bright red bill, with distinctive yellow tip, sets it apart from its closest neighbour, the Coot.
Suzanne trained at Ealing Art College and began her career as a graphic designer. Following roles in London and Bermuda, she now splits her time between painting and teaching. Her exhibition venues include the RWA in Bristol, Bankside Gallery in London and Cambridge Contemporary Art.
