Le Bassin D'Argenteuil [After Claude Monet]

Regular price £49.00

Monet lived in Argenteuil from 1871 to 1878 and would frequently take his easel and brushes to various spots along the Seine. He was fascinated by the movement of the small boats and often captured these idyllic scenes with a masterful attention to light and colour.

On the left of the painting, a couple are strolling along the Argenteuil promenade, which is bathed in broken light. While in the foreground, you can see a washhouse, a bathing pool, and several elegant females escaping the sun under small umbrellas.

Impressionism had reached its peaked during Monet's Argenteuil period and this is a particularly accomplished work.

The print itself is of fine quality with a textured finish.
