A very fine still life featuring a bowl of fruit sat before an open book containing a drawing. Sheila Bownas (1925 - 2007) graduated from The Slade, London, in 1950 and soon became a highly regarded freelance designer, creating patterns for many well-known brands including Liberty and Marks and Spencer.

Her works have fetched up to £1,850 at auction.
