English River Scene [Edward Louis Anthony Parrini]

DESCRIPTION

A superb Victorian oil on canvas featuring several boats moored by the side of an English river. Most are small fishing vessels but one appears to be a tugboat powered by steam.

Edward Louis Anthony Parrini (1858-1914) was a British artist that often painted scenes along the River Thames. His works include a genre scene close to Putney Bridge, which looks quite similar to the bridge in the distance here.
