Bretagne Harbour Scene [J Ploux]

Regular price £249.00

An impressionistic oil on board depicting an everyday scene in Port de Concarneau, Bretagne, North-West France. It's centred around a marina where several brightly-coloured sailing boats are moored - adjacent to a fortified building.

In the foreground, two ladies wearing traditional Bretagne outfits have stopped to talk, while a third woman approaches from the right. In the bottom left, two gentleman are sitting on the harbour wall and one appears to be wearing a beret.

A nicely balanced composition and a beautiful choice of colours.
