Banished Lord [SW Reynolds After Sir Joshua Reynolds]

Regular price £59.00

DESCRIPTION

A fine original 19th century mezzotint by British engraver, SW Reynolds (1773 – 1835), after a work by Sir Joshua Reynolds (1723 - 1792) that’s held in the National Gallery.

Samuel Williams Reynolds was a popular engraver of his generation and worked regularly in Britain and France. This particular piece is a ‘proof’, which would've been created prior to a run of further prints. Sir Joshua Reynolds RA FRS FRSA was arguably one of the greatest European portrait painters of the 18th century.
