Among The Pines [Forster Robson]
A beautiful woodland scene by listed British artist (and author) Forster Robson, who worked actively between 1888 and 1906. Robson was known for his relaxing watercolours of the British countryside, notably around Surrey. This particular work is entitled ‘Among The Pines’ and depicts the entrance to a wooded area in Oxshott, which the artist probably knew well. Several of his works have sold at international auction houses, including Christie’s and Bonhams.
The painting was mounted and framed by J H Welsh picture frame maker, Bristol and more recently reglazed. Signed bottom right and inscribed on the back.
