19th Century Scene With Neo-Gothic Building
An unusual 19th-century oil painting depicting an imposing Victorian building in a Gothic Revival style. In the foreground, a large set of cast iron gates are flanked by stone piers. Beyond them, the pathway towards the property appears to be overgrown and inaccessible. A single grey heron looks towards the gates.
Signed ‘Munkácsy’ in the bottom left, which tends to be a Hungarian surname.
