Francis E Jamieson (1895-1950)
English landscape artist Francis E Jamieson worked under 11 different names, including Phil Hipps, Graham Williams and Stanley Penn. He created these personas to avoid violating an exclusive contract to paint scenes on to furniture. Jamieson adored the Highlands and became well known for his depictions of Scottish landscapes and seascapes. His works have appeared at Christie’s, Sotherby’s and Bonhams.
