Victor Onyshchenko

Figurative Artist, Post-Impressionism, Ukraine

Victor Onyshchenko is an accomplished painter of Ukrainian landscapes – predominantly the picturesque corners of Kyiv and Chernihiv.

He tends to work ‘en plein air’, in the same vein as the impressionists/post-impressionists, yet balances his love for impressionism with a respect for classicism. As such, his influences include Pissarro, Cezanne, Monet and Van Gogh, as well as realists, such as Tatyana Yablonska, and the ‘Russian Wanderers’.

This interesting blend of styles results in landscapes which are grounded in reality, while also possessing a bold, often exciting, colour palette.
