A fine mid-19th-century portrait of Mary Anne Boyce nee Jacob by English painter, Edwin Williams (c.1810-c.1880). The details are exquisite - note the attention to detail on the beautiful embroidered lace and resting hands.
Edwin Williams exhibited in London between 1845 and 1875, primarily at the Royal Academy but also at the Suffolk Street Gallery and the British Institution. A portrait of Sir Charles James Napier is held in the collection at the National Portrait Gallery.
