Kristian Jacob Valdemar Meyer was a Danish artist that’s primarily known for landscapes and peaceful interior scenes. He was the son of Carl Vilhelm Meyer (1870-1938) and immersed in the family profession from an early age. His father painted Jacob on numerous occasions.

He exhibited regularly at Charlottenburg Palace in Copenhagen alongside the finest painters of his generation and also in Rotterdam and Budapest. The V&A holds an example of his work.

Enrolled at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Copenhagen.

Married the painter Ruth Cilia Andersen (1897-1971).

Travelled to Italy.

Debuted at Charlottenburg Palace, Copenhagen, where he became a regular exhibitor.

Travelled to Paris.

Received the Otto Bache scholarship.

Died.
